About Us

Our Mission

The mission of the Indian Civilisation Institute of Guyana is to preserve, promote, and advance the rich cultural, spiritual, and historical heritage of Indian civilisation within Guyana and across the global diaspora. We aim to educate communities through research, exhibitions, cultural programs, and academic initiatives that celebrate the values, traditions, and contributions of Indo-Guyanese history. Our purpose is to inspire cultural pride, strengthen identity, and ensure that the timeless wisdom of Indian civilisation—its philosophy, arts, language, and spiritual teachings—continues to guide and enrich future generations.

Our Vision

Our goal is to become Guyana’s leading centre for Indian cultural knowledge, preservation of history, and international cultural exchange. We strive to create a world where Indo-Guyanese heritage is recognised, respected, and celebrated globally. The institute envisions a future in which the teachings of Indian civilisation—focused on harmony, learning, unity, and spiritual growth—help build stronger communities in Guyana and foster stronger connections between nations. By promoting understanding and cultural appreciation, we aim to leave a lasting legacy that links the past, present, and future.
